Privacy Policy
Who we are: Our website is https://recognito.pro.
Comments: When you comment, we collect what you enter in the form, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have a profile (Gravatar privacy policy). Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is shown publicly with it.
Media: If you upload images, remove location data (EXIF GPS) first. Visitors can download images and extract that data.
Cookies:
- Comments: You can choose to save your name, email and website in cookies so you don’t have to type them again. They last one year.
- Login page: A temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It holds no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Logged in: Cookies keep you logged in and save your display choices. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you pick “Remember Me”. Display cookies last one year. Logging out removes the login cookies.
- Editing: Editing or publishing an article saves a cookie with only that article’s ID. It expires after one day.
Embedded content: Articles may include content from other sites, such as videos or images. That content works as if you had visited the other site, which may collect data about you, set cookies, use third-party tracking and monitor how you interact with it, especially if you have an account there and are logged in.
Who we share your data with: If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.
How long we keep your data: Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can approve your later comments automatically. If you register, we store the details in your profile. You can view, edit or delete them at any time, but you can’t change your username. Site administrators can also view and edit them.
Your rights: If you have an account or have left comments, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. We may keep data we’re required to hold for administrative, legal or security reasons.
Where your data is sent: Comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
